DUKE & DUCHESS

Duke and Duchess are white Bengal tigers that were born on a very cold the day before Christmas Eve 2016 at a wildlife park in the UAE. They were rejected by their mama and I was called in to help nurse the cubs to health.
Duchess got very sick when she was 6 weeks old and was hospitalised twice with lung issues, failing kidneys and not much hope. Working with vets, holistic therapies, solfeggio frequencies, patented water technology and a whole lot of love at the Big Paw Nursery, Duchess slowly regained her vigour for life and spent the next  9 months playing hard, swimming in the pool and simply being a gorgeous baby tiger cub with her brother Duke. We had started training the cubs and preparing them to make their way back to the wild life park. They spent the next 2 years at the wildlife park where I came every single day without missing a day,  bringing nutritional food, fresh water, ice in the summer and heaps of toys for enrichment. They were sponsored by Waldorf Astoria and thanks to Katie Hollanby from Waldorf,  we won the prestigious Hiltons Travel with Purpose Award and a US$5,000 grant which was used to build a beautiful 3 tiered  jungle gym which they absolutely loved.
This award came for our contribution to the community and our anticipated Wild4Kidz program which would educate kids about animals, wildlife and the environment.
In 2019 Duke got very sick and for 9 long arduous  months we diligently worked with vets, animal healers and communicators and we tried everything to bring him back to health. It was decided that Duke and Duchess would be transferred to Big Paw Sanctuary where he could receive 24 hour around the clock care. The move could not come any sooner and slowly Duke regained his health and now is a big beautiful 200 kg happy cat. Due to the urgency of the move a temporary, we call it “studio apartment” habitat was built for them and our plans for their fur-ever home is being scheduled and in effect with their grand habitat full of big beautiful trees, a super  jungle gym, a stunning rock pool feature and waterfall and a big beautiful  airconditioned room for sleeping and chilling out.
Their palace is expected to be finished by early 2023/ A GoFundMe will be set up to raise the funds for their fur-ever home.
